Removing the Bot
You can remove Strom Bot from a server at any time. This page explains what happens to your data and how to restore everything if you change your mind.
How to remove Strom
Option A — kick the bot Right-click Strom Bot in the member list → Kick. This removes it immediately but keeps your saved configuration on file for a grace period.
Option B — remove the integration Server Settings → Integrations → Strom Bot → Remove App. This also revokes the bot’s authorisation.
What happens to your configuration
- Your module settings are retained for a short grace period so an accidental kick doesn’t wipe everything. Re-invite within that window and your setup is intact.
- Background jobs (scheduled broadcasts, status trackers, social feeds) stop while the bot is gone.
- Commands stop working immediately, since Discord removes them with the integration.
If the bot stays removed for an extended time, the server’s configuration may be cleaned up permanently. To be safe, only remove Strom if you intend to stop using it.
Bringing Strom back
- Re-invite from the invite page.
- Re-grant any permissions and check the Strom Bot role position.
- If you re-invite within the grace period, your previous configuration loads automatically. If not, set the modules up again from the dashboard.
Removing and re-adding the bot is not a reliable way to fix an issue and risks losing settings. For troubleshooting, see Troubleshooting; to wipe settings deliberately, use Reset Server.
